About this role
About the Role Join Materials Research Furnaces, LLC as a Sintering Furnace Engineer supporting the 4-station indexing sintering furnace product line. You will work on high-temperature sintering systems used for electronic components, helping ensure reliable automated cycles, process control, and integration with production networks. What You'll Do
- Collaborate on design, testing, and deployment of 4-station indexing sintering furnaces with a 12" diameter x 22" high hot zone, tantalum or tungsten heating zones, and up to 2100°C max.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and optimization of high-throughput batch sintering processes (4 loads simultaneously, ~45-minute cycle).
- Work with HMI automation, computer interfaces, and production network integration to support recipe selection and product tracking.
- Support customers and internal teams with troubleshooting, documentation, and technical training.
- Evaluate process parameters, vacuum/out-gassing performance, and gas handling systems (diffusion pumping, gas heat exchangers). What We're Looking For
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with high-temperature furnaces, vacuum systems, diffusion pumps, and automated process controls.
- Knowledge of tantalum or tungsten heating zones and thermal management in high-temperature furnaces.
- Familiarity with HMI interfaces, PLCs, and production-network integration.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Nice to Have
- Experience with indexing or batch sintering systems and multi-chamber furnaces.
- Exposure to different sintering configurations (single, double, small batch).
- Experience in manufacturing environments or cleanrooms.
