About the Role Jones Day's Singapore Office is seeking qualified lawyers to join a globally integrated Firm. With a focus on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, financing, and project work, the Singapore team serves clients across Southeast Asia and beyond. The office is licensed to practice Singapore law (QFLP) and works closely with Jones Day’s 2,500+ lawyers worldwide to deliver seamless client service. What You'll Do
- Provide legal representation and advice on Singapore law in permitted areas as part of cross-border matters handled for clients in Southeast Asia and globally.
- Work across corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, financing, and project work; develop a well-rounded skill set by pursuing a 'minor' in a second practice area.
- Collaborate with firm leaders and colleagues across Jones Day’s global offices to deliver high-quality client service; participate in training and development programs, including the New Lawyer Academy.
- Contribute to a culture of professional excellence and client service; the Firm has a track record of promoting associates to partner.
- Note: The Singapore Office does not hire summer associates or articling clerks. What We're Looking For
- Qualified lawyers either in the United States or United Kingdom, with a license in at least one other country, ideally Singapore, India, or Indonesia.
- Preference for candidates with a U.S. LL.M. and admission to the New York Bar; Singapore Bar Examinations are also accepted.
- Most hires have at least one year of practice prior to hire; bilingual fluency in Mandarin or Hindi and English is common.
- A strong commitment to outstanding client service and a collaborative, global mindset. Nice to Have
- U.S. LL.M. and NY Bar; Singapore Bar Examinations experience.
- Fluency in Mandarin or Hindi in addition to English.
- Experience across multiple sectors in the Southeast Asia region.
