Job title: Simulation Lab Coordinator

About the Role

The Simulation Lab Coordinator coordinates operational aspects of the nursing school's simulation labs, including equipment, technology, supplies, and SOPs, and collaborates with faculty and staff to maintain high-quality simulation-based learning experiences. This is a reduced full-time exempt position with full-time hours during the academic year and reduced hours during breaks and summer.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities and services for the simulation labs within the School of Nursing.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and technology; assist with standards for best practice in simulation; create, maintain, upgrade, and supervise SOPs; orient users to policies and procedures.
  • Support faculty, staff, students, and the department; schedule labs and special events; manage inventory and perform semi-annual inventory; communicate supply needs; assist with software upgrades; interface with IT and vendor support.
  • Maintain simulation multimedia equipment, software, and hardware; perform simple repairs; liaise with vendor support; maintain PCs and software; assist with meeting best practice standards; ensure simulations meet objectives; align with INACSL standards; comply with accreditation requirements.
  • Develop and refine simulation scenarios; assist faculty in development, evaluation, and implementation; participate in departmental meetings and recruiting; maintain electronic and physical databases of simulations; participate in professional development.

What We're Looking For

  • Professional: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred); active RN license in Texas; at least 3 years of RN experience (medical-surgical preferred).
  • Simulation: Certification in simulation and experience in simulation (preferred);
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication; strong problem-solving and creative capabilities; ability to work with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, simulation and AV software; ability to troubleshoot; ability to learn ACU systems.
  • Physical/Schedule: Lifting up to 30 pounds, standing/walking/sitting; flexible schedule including early mornings, late evenings, weekends as needed.

Nice to Have

  • Gaumard equipment and technology training; Laerdal simulator training.
  • Experience with ACU systems like Expense reporting and Workday.
