About this role

NVIDIA is seeking a highly motivated hardware engineer to join the Silicon Solutions Group in Bengaluru, India. This role focuses on architecting and delivering solutions to productize NVIDIA chips for consumer, professional, server, mobile, and automotive markets. The work includes silicon characterization, correlating results to architecture and design expectations, finalizing product specifications, and developing productization techniques and infrastructure to address challenges of latest process node technologies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to industry-defining products at a fast-paced and dynamic company.

Responsibilities

  • Perform test case execution, debug silicon issues related to correlation and functionality, and generate high-quality results while providing design feedback.
  • Lead show-stopper bugs and develop creative solutions to sophisticated silicon and system-level problems to enable product shipment.
  • Collaborate with system architects, chip and board designers, software/firmware engineers, HW/SW applications engineers, process/reliability specialists, ATE engineers, and operations in a high-energy environment to bring products to market.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to craft essential next-generation product features focused on performance, power optimization, and power management.
  • Create tools for post-silicon work and establish post-silicon methodologies to characterize silicon power and correlate silicon behavior with simulation.
  • Develop test plans for new features with various Architecture & Design teams and collaborate with validation and bring-up teams to characterize silicon power and power-saving features.
  • Collaborate with design and estimation teams to align with pre-silicon expectations, and work with hardware and software teams to tune and optimize silicon power.
  • Develop power consumption models for binning, productization, and customer notes, and characterize power control mechanisms with Arch/Design/SW teams.

Requirements

  • B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics Engineering with 2+ years of related experience, and strong problem-solving, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of silicon power and performance, technology node impacts, and hardware-software interactions at the system level.
  • Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up, validation, and productization; good knowledge of board and system design considerations and power supply design.
  • Excellent problem-solving and hardware debugging abilities, strong data analysis and logical reasoning skills.
  • Familiarity with a hardware lab environment and proficiency with lab equipment; experience working with Windows; Linux experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl and/or Python is a plus.
  • A strong teammate who can collaborate with global teams from diverse backgrounds in a high-energy environment.
  • Exposure to critical path and power analysis, process technologies, transistor/device physics, silicon reliability and aging mechanisms.
  • Background in power supply and substrate noise analysis and mitigation, with exposure to digital design, circuit analysis, computer architecture, BIOS, drivers, and software applications.
