Position Title: Shipping Supervisor

Pay Rate: 69,500 - 92,600

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP's annual incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Leads and directs daily activities of the shipping department, including productivity, quality, service, and on-time delivery in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring customer requirements and organization goals are achieved.
  • Ensures all work is performed in a safe, clean, productive environment. Promotes safety and housekeeping by following established safety rules and procedures.
  • Manages and coordinates daily activities for all three shifts in the shipping department.
  • Works closely with customer service department, production planning, finishing, accounting and sales to ensure full customer satisfaction.
  • Manages Returned Goods process
  • Manages inventory with the assistance of the sales team in customer locations
  • Oversee trucks are scheduled to the best efficiency, keeping in mind freight costs and ship to locations when coordinating the preparation of the daily shipping schedule.
  • Oversees deliveries 24 hours/per day seven days a week per customer demands.
  • Cost analysis for all deliveries and customer pick-ups
  • Guarantees that lift drivers maintain up to date training, coaches and facilitates the shipping team for better efficiency.
  • Maintains the integrity of finished goods inventory inside the facility
  • Works closely with accounting and customer service to ensure accuracy of data. Responsible for tracking inventory.
  • Maintains and keeps current the overall knowledge of costs associated with the shipping department.
  • Manages costs relative to pallet expenses.

Skills You Will Bring:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Previous shipping experience required.
  • Prior experience in the corrugated packaging industry preferred.
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
