Shipping & Receiving Associate (UPS/FedEx Experience)

Take Ownership of Shipping at a Growing Distribution Center!
Hidden Talent is hiring on behalf of Alsico North America, an established international company specializing in protective workwear and garments.
We're looking for an experienced, dependable Shipping & Receiving Associate to take ownership of daily shipping operations at Alsico's growing Shelbyville distribution center.
This is a hands-on, physically active position for someone who enjoys staying busy, takes pride in getting orders out correctly and on time, and can confidently communicate with leadership.
We're looking for someone who can manage the shipping process independently, work comfortably with shipping software, and jump into the physical work required to keep orders moving.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of daily outbound shipping activities, ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Pick, pack, label, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Process shipments using UPS, FedEx, and internal warehouse software.
- Generate shipping labels, verify shipping information, and maintain accurate shipment records.
- Lift, move, stack, and organize boxes and materials throughout the workday.
- Assist with receiving incoming shipments, unloading materials, and organizing inventory.
- Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies, packing errors, and order fulfillment issues.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with Alsico's corporate team in Los Angeles regarding shipment status, delays, and operational needs.
- Follow established shipping procedures and warehouse safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively with a small warehouse team to keep orders moving and maintain an organized workspace.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or order fulfillment.
- Hands-on experience with UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or comparable shipping software strongly preferred.
- Ability to independently process shipments from order preparation through final carrier pickup.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new warehouse management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially when verifying orders, quantities, and shipping information.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize shipments in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable attendance, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to take initiative.
- Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment is a plus.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically active warehouse position, not a desk-based shipping role.
The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and moving boxes throughout the workday. Employees regularly participate in picking, packing, loading, unloading, and organizing shipments.
