Job title: Shipping and Packaging Clerk
About the Role The Shipping and Packaging Clerk works with the transportation department or vendors to ensure timely inbound and outbound deliveries. The role verifies and records outgoing shipments and finished goods, and prepares outgoing items for shipment and inventory storage.
What You'll Do
- Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determine method of shipment and packaging.
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencil information on cartons.
- Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select pre-assembled containers.
- Insert items into containers.
- Nail covers on wooden crates and bind containers with metal tape.
- Stack cardboard containers on pallets and shrink wrap pallets for shipment.
- Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications and documentation.
- Maintain inventory of shipping and packaging materials and supplies.
- Operate forklift, tier lift truck or hand truck to move shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Enter data into computer system for inventory records, shipping information and tracking purposes.
- Lifting up to 35 lbs
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $17.00 to $22.50 USD hourly, based on factors.
- Eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on performance in the applicable quarter.
