About the Role
The Sheet Metal Fabricator will produce flat and formed parts in line with engineered drawings, operating Amada Brake Press and Amada laser. This role requires basic sheet metal fabrication knowledge, ability to program and form simple bends, deburr parts, and support production on a 2nd shift. The position is based in Hartland, WI as part of the Dorner Manufacturing team within Columbus McKinnon. What You'll Do
- Identify correct material, programs, and dies for laser and/or brake press per work order.
- Set up tooling on equipment and retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions, making modifications as necessary.
- Troubleshoot poor cutting conditions, damaged tools and equipment alarms.
- Refine processes to improve quality and reduce cycle time.
- Use manual and automatic deburring equipment to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Shake out completed parts from the laser and move to the next step in routing.
- Sort and store raw material using forklift and overhead crane.
- Communicate with programmers daily.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, and perform 5S tasks as required. What We're Looking For
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and solid blueprint reading skills.
- Proficiency with measurement tools (caliper, tape measure, micrometer, etc.).
- Ability to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems and to be flexible with changing priorities.
- Attention to detail.
- 1+ years of experience running similar equipment preferred.
- Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely.
- Valid Driver's License. Nice to Have
- Experience operating Amada Brake Press and Amada laser is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
- $20+ per hour, based on experience; Additional $2/hour shift premium for 2nd shift.
