About this role
Share Stories with a Former Ballerina- Aged Care Social Volunteer | ACVVS
Behind every person is a lifetime of stories, and this lovely lady at an aged care home in Queens Park has plenty to share.
Originally from Germany, she is a former ballerina who enjoys the simple pleasures of life: a good book, beautiful music, a walk in the fresh air, and a meaningful conversation. She speaks both English and German and enjoys connecting with people who appreciate friendship, stories, and shared moments.
Whether you're chatting about life experiences, discussing a favourite book, listening to music together, or simply enjoying each other's company, your visit could bring warmth, connection, and something special to look forward to each week.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys spending time with older people and values the friendships that can grow from regular visits. Sometimes the most meaningful moments are found in a conversation, a shared smile, or a walk together in the sunshine.
1-hour visits, weekly or fortnightly, between 10:00am and 5:00pm (avoiding lunchtime at 12:00pm). We're happy to work around your availability.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
