About the Role Join the institution's Student Government Association (SGA) as an Advisor to guide and support student leaders, foster an inclusive campus community, and advocate for student needs. You will mentor students, help manage budgets and plan events, and ensure operations comply with center policies and regulations. What You'll Do
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the SGA and assist student leaders in representing and serving the student body.
- Manage budgets, plan events, and advocate for student needs; ensure that the SGA operates in accordance with Center policies and regulations.
- Maintain discipline, cleanliness, and inventory control in assigned areas; project a positive image and encourage enthusiastic participation in SGA activities.
- Serve as a member of the Leisure Learning Committee and report progress of activities to the committee; act as a mentor and resource for SGA officers and members.
- Provide guidance on leadership development, parliamentary procedure, and effective communication.
- Assist in the resolution of conflicts or issues within the SGA; help plan and organize meetings including agenda development.
- Maintain records and documentation related to SGA activities and decisions; foster a sense of community and inclusivity and encourage collaboration with other student organizations.
- Organize leadership training workshops and retreats for SGA members; keep abreast of best practices in student government and share information with the SGA.
- Follow CDSS plan and Code of Conduct daily; comply with applicable laws and center policies and procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices; model Career Success Standards and help students become more employable through reinforcement.
- Participate in PRH mandated staff training; perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Associate of Arts Degree, preferably in a related field.
- Minimum of one to three years related experience and/or training; experience in student affairs or leadership.
- Knowledge of student government processes and governance structures.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students and staff.
- Understanding of student development and leadership theory.
- Valid State Driver’s License. Nice to Have
