About the Role Johnson Controls is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose, retrofit, and maintain Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS) and related control panels onboard ships. The role involves commissioning AFDS and fire extinguishing systems and performing AMC activities, with a focus on safety and compliance in marine environments.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and rectify defects in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS) and control panels onboard ships.
- Execute retrofit and commissioning activities for AFDS and fire extinguishing systems (CO₂, FM200, Water Mist, Foam).
- Perform annual maintenance contracts (AMC) for AFDS and fire extinguishing systems.
- Troubleshoot software issues within control panels, including program upload/download.
- Ensure compliance with marine safety standards and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering.
- Experience: 5–7 years of hands-on service experience.
- Required Expertise in servicing Addressable Fire Detection Systems and Fire Extinguishing Systems (CO₂, FM200, Water Mist, Foam).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
- Willingness to travel across Indian ports.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of conventional/addressable fire detection systems.
- Experience with naval and marine ship systems.
