About the Role The Service Manager oversees all customer service for ASM products installed within the assigned region for Japan, including installation, qualification and service of ALD, PEALD, CVD, PECVD, and EPI equipment. The role owns regional spare parts depots and consignment inventory levels and is accountable to meet all financial targets for the region. It also includes managing and developing Field Service Engineers and coordinating with Sales on spares and service contracts. What You'll Do
- Establish and maintain a "Safety and Quality First" culture while achieving customer service goals.
- Participate early in new product development so Field Service Engineers can support product introduction.
- Advise site personnel on routine and non-routine tasks; resource scheduling.
- Manage service jobs to completion within scheduled timeframes and ensure ASM meets all support contractual agreements.
- Work with Sales to close on Spares and Service contracts.
- Interact with high-level customers and internal personnel; participate in departmental policy making decisions.
- Drive customer satisfaction and manage FSE utilization.
- Organize the workforce and schedule work; define annual goals for FSEs; integrate activities with other organizations.
- Report progress, completions, problems, and opportunities to management; think strategically and implement tactics to achieve account objectives. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related technical field.
- 5–10 years of experience in Field Service Management, preferably in the semiconductor capital equipment industry.
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English.
- Ability to interact with and influence senior management; internal and external.
- Experience with P&L management and general business processes.
- Extensive knowledge and experience within a related service industry, customer satisfaction and account management, preferably in semiconductor industry.
- Knowledge of semiconductor industry, related ASM applications and technology.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Previous experience as a People manager.
- Experience with forecasting revenue generation.
- SAP knowledge required. Nice to Have
- Experience with Service Bulletins (R&U) and FSM usage; accurate time reporting.
