Create a dining experience guests will remember. Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown is seeking a friendly, attentive Server who takes pride in delivering excellent service. The ideal candidate is dependable, works well with a team, and stays organized in a busy dining environment.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome guests, present menus, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
- Explain menu items, answer questions, and offer food and beverage recommendations.
- Accurately enter orders into the point-of-sale system and communicate special requests to the kitchen.
- Follow established procedures for food allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and check back to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Monitor assigned tables, anticipate guest needs, and respond professionally to requests.
- Process payments accurately and follow cash-handling procedures.
- Set, clear, and reset tables and maintain clean, organized service areas.
- Complete opening, closing, and side-work assignments.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service procedures.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff, hosts, bartenders, and fellow servers to deliver smooth service.
What You’ll Bring
- Previous restaurant or hotel serving experience preferred.
- Strong guest service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tables while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and payment processing preferred.
- A professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to perform essential duties, including prolonged standing, walking, and carrying trays, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to meet applicable requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
