Job title: Senior/Staff/Principal Engineer
About the Role This is a general track for Senior+ (Senior/Staff/Principal) Engineers in any team at Canonical. After the first round of interviews we will establish which teams might be an excellent fit, and progress your application with them. Canonical is a pioneer of global distributed collaboration, with 1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries and very few office-based roles.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to Canonical projects across teams in a globally distributed organization; align on strategy and execution with colleagues worldwide.
- Engage in architectural and hands-on engineering work as part of the Senior+/Staff/Principal track.
- Participate in cross-team interviews and then join the team that best matches your strengths; teams meet two to four times yearly in person in interesting locations around the world to align on strategy and execution.
What We're Looking For
- Senior+ (Senior/Staff/Principal) Engineers capable of operating across multiple teams and domains in a distributed organization.
- Experience in open source software and Ubuntu-related initiatives, and comfort working with Canonical’s platform and customers.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a globally distributed team and participate in in-person strategy sessions 2-4 times per year.
