Job title: Senior/Staff Ultrasound System Engineer – Medical Device (San Diego, CA)
We are seeking an Ultrasound System Engineer to engage in the design/development of our next generation Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) products that are helping to save lives around the world. This role focuses on designing, developing, integrating, and validating ultrasound imaging systems and subsystems, and collaborating across hardware, software, mechanical, and clinical engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will develop system architectures, analyze signal processing performance, perform system-level testing, and translate marketing/customer requirements into engineering specifications while balancing quality, regulatory, security, safety, usability, and time-to-market.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, integrate, and validate ultrasound imaging systems and subsystems.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, mechanical, and clinical engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and evaluate system architectures, signal processing performance, and overall system functionality.
- Perform system-level testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Help translate marketing/customer requirements into engineering specifications.
- Collaborate with quality and regulatory teams to balance security, safety, usability, and time-to-market.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an individual contributor in engineering, with a focus on developing complex systems.
