About the Role
Reaktiv is seeking senior and lead WordPress developers for a 3-6+ month contract (25-35 hours per week). You will help build, maintain, support, and refactor WordPress sites and content management systems, create custom plugins and themes, and work with enterprise clients. This is a fully distributed team role requiring collaboration, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem solving. What You'll Do

Develop and maintain WordPress sites and CMSs for clients.

Create custom WordPress plugins and themes that scale to client needs.

Leverage PHP and JavaScript, and work with SQL, HTML5, CSS, and CSS preprocessors.

Participate in positive, collaborative peer code reviews.

Work with a distributed team via Slack, Asana, Notion, and Zoom.

Implement automated deployment workflows and use Git or similar version control.

Audit sites for performance, security, and future maintainability; provide recommendations.

Document the team's workflows and processes; guide clients toward desired results.

Contribute to enterprise/WordPress VIP projects when needed. What We're Looking For

Senior or lead WordPress developers; deep understanding of WordPress architecture.

Experience with WordPress is required; enterprise and WordPress VIP experience preferred.

Ability to create custom WordPress plugins and themes that work at scale.

Strong PHP and JavaScript skills; proficient in SQL, HTML5, CSS, and CSS preprocessors.

Experience with automated deployment workflows and Git or similar version control.

Comfortable collaborating with a distributed team using Slack, Asana, Notion, and Zoom.

Passion for solving complex problems; willingness to learn and document workflows.

Excellent client-facing communication; patient, respectful, and collaborative.

Experience auditing sites for performance, security, and maintainability.

Agency environment experience of 2+ years (preferred). Nice to Have

WordPress VIP/Enterprise experience (explicitly preferred).
