Senior Warehouse Manager Requirements & Qualifications Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations At least 3 years managing warehouse teams in a high-volume environment Proven ability to lead supervisors and large hourly teams Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and distribution Experience with WMS, ERP, or inventory-management systems Solid understanding of warehouse safety practices and regulations Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Senior Warehouse Manager Preferred Background & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Operations, or related field Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or other continuous-improvement methodologies Experience managing automated warehouse or distribution-center operations Forklift or material-handling certification Experience with labor-management systems and KPI reporting

Senior Warehouse Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities Lead warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, fulfillment, shipping, and returns Manage and develop supervisors, leads, hourly employees, and temporary staff Establish performance expectations and monitor productivity, accuracy, attendance, and KPIs Develop staffing plans and labor strategies to meet business needs Oversee inventory control, cycle counting, and accuracy, resolving discrepancies and operational issues Identify and implement improvements in layout, workflows, processes, and efficiency Promote safety culture ensuring compliance with OSHA and safety requirements Manage warehouse equipment and operating costs including labor and supplies Utilize and improve warehouse management and inventory systems Analyze operational data and provide reports and recommendations to senior leadership Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost reduction, and service Maintain a clean, organized, and professional warehouse environment
