About the Role Senior Underwriter Financial Lines (MLC & FI) is responsible for underwriting Management Liabilities Commercial (MLC) and Financial Institutions (FI) risks within AIG's Financial Lines department. You will apply underwriting authority, exercise sound judgment, and negotiate to make decisions while building relationships with brokers and identifying cross-selling opportunities across Lines of Business. What You'll Do
- Underwrite assigned risks: MLC (Management Liabilities Commercial) and FI (Financial Institutions) within the Financial Lines department.
- Comply with terms of personal underwriting authority.
- Exercise judgment, negotiate and make sound business decisions effectively based on level of authority.
- Develop relationships with brokers.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities with different Lines of Business.
- Drive the sales process on new products.
- Assist Front Desk Unit/Customer Service Group.
- Maintain a target list and generate submissions to meet NB targets.
- Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures and techniques.
- Review, evaluate and modify underwriting guidelines. What We're Looking For
- Relevant experience in Commercial insurance at Financial Lines departments.
- Law, Economics, Business Administration or Risk Management degree preferred.
- Fluent English skills (written & spoken).
- Strong analytical and technical skills.
- Outgoing and entrepreneurial personality.
