About the Role Senior Underwriter Financial Lines CEE will drive growth across Eastern European countries and build the Financial Lines portfolio. The role requires several years of Financial Lines underwriting experience, the ability to manage multiple submissions from different countries, and the ambition to build a portfolio from the ground up. The successful candidate will design a strategy, set up processes, and underwrite risks to grow Financial Lines in Eastern Europe. The position is located in Germany and reports to the Practice Leader Financial Lines Central and Eastern Europe. What You'll Do
- Grow Financial Lines’ portfolio of Eastern European risks
- Build relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally
- Operate as the main Financial Lines contact for Eastern European brokers
- Work closely with the actuarial team to ensure long-term portfolio sustainability
- Collaborate with European underwriting managers and the Head of FL Europe to set a long-term strategy
- Underwrite risks in all Financial Lines product areas for Eastern Europe (excluding M&A)
- Present AIG to clients and brokers as a flexible "Solution Provider"
- Travel as needed What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience in Financial Lines underwriting, preferably across multiple products
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Law
- Strong interest in negotiating and risk analysis
- Positive, determined approach to researching and analyzing new business opportunities
- Flexible, ambitious, independent
- Strong written and verbal English; Eastern European language skills a plus
- Willingness to travel and build relationships internally and externally Nice to Have
