About the Role
MandM is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead test engineering practices and define high-level test strategies, balancing technical excellence with user needs. You will own test environments, mentor junior talent, and drive a continuous test-and-learn culture across cross-functional squads to improve resilience and stability of our platform.
What You'll Do
- Establish and lead test engineering practices, standards, and behaviours across the organisation. Take ownership of overall efficiency, coverage, and cost-effectiveness of all test automation efforts.
- Develop, standardise, and extend reusable frameworks and tools to support diverse testing activities; drive the development of custom tooling for backend and database testing.
- Collaborate with Staff Engineers to define the SDLC, Test Strategy, quality standards, and Definition of Done. Own the full test environment and data management strategy; define strategy for advanced testing types, including visual regression and security testing.
- Translate logical designs into detailed physical designs for systems characterised by manageable risk and complexity.
- Adopt AI-Pair Programming to accelerate coding, establish reviews for AI-generated code, and promote a test-and-learn approach across engineering and product development.
- Actively mentor and coach junior colleagues, host technical and non-technical discussions, and champion users while meeting accessibility standards.

- Ability to influence tool choices, drive improvements, and foster a continuous "test and learn" culture.
- Hands-on contributor with testing frameworks; comfortable with backend and database testing.
- Experience collaborating with Staff Engineers and Team Leads; strong mentoring and cross-functional collaboration.
