Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Senior Technician to join our Technical Team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and executing the installation, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) panels, inverters, batteries, and related electrical components.
  • The role involves providing technical guidance to other technicians, ensuring compliance with safety standards, conducting site assessments, and resolving complex technical issues.
  • The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate technical activities to ensure efficient project delivery and reliable energy solutions for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of solar PV systems, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, charge controllers, and associated electrical components.
  • Conduct site surveys and technical assessments to determine installation requirements, system capacity, and project feasibility.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system diagnostics to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical faults involving solar systems, electrical wiring, inverters, batteries, and other equipment.
  • Repair or replace defective components and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Conduct system testing and performance verification after installation, maintenance, or repairs.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and installation manuals.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior technicians to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with established procedures.
  • Monitor installation and maintenance activities to ensure adherence to technical standards, company policies, and health and safety regulations.
  • Identify recurring technical issues and recommend appropriate solutions to improve system performance and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate technical assignments and ensure the timely completion of installation and maintenance projects.
  • Collaborate with the Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams to support project planning, execution, and successful delivery.
  • Provide customers with guidance on system operation, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Conduct periodic site visits and respond to customer service requests and emergency technical issues as required.
  • Monitor the quality of completed installations and ensure that systems meet required performance and safety standards.
  • Prepare technical reports and provide recommendations for system upgrades, repairs, and improvements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in solar PV installation, electrical systems, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience installing, commissioning, and maintaining residential, commercial, or industrial solar power systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical and solar system faults.
  • Previous experience supervising or providing technical guidance to junior technicians.
  • Knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage technologies, electrical wiring, and related components.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards, installation procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Relevant technical certifications in solar installation, electrical systems, or renewable energy are an advantage.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and team coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet project deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations and project sites as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with residential, commercial, or industrial solar power systems.
  • Knowledge of different inverter technologies, battery storage systems, and solar charge controllers.
  • Experience conducting system performance assessments and recommending corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with solar monitoring systems and basic performance-analysis tools.
