About this role
Job title: Senior Technical Program Manager
About the Role
As a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) within the GES Technology Group, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the Digital Delivery Leader and Product Teams and be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the engineering plan and schedule for one or more domains and drive dependency management within and across teams. You will identify risks to delivery early, mitigate proactively, and escalate with clarity when needed to keep commitments and drive operational excellence at scale.
What You'll Do
- Own and maintain integrated engineering schedule for assigned domains including milestones and delivery dates; translate product decisions into detailed schedules, keep current, communicate changes proactively, and serve as the authoritative source on schedule status and delivery risk.
- Map and track all intra-domain and cross-domain dependencies, facilitate resolution of conflicts to unblock delivery, and represent domain in cross-product planning sessions ensuring visibility of capacity constraints and commitments.
- Proactively identify delivery risks across dependencies, resources, scope, and execution; develop and track mitigation plans; escalate unresolved risks to leadership with full context and recommendations; maintain current, actionable risk log.
- Partner with Product Owners/Managers to translate scope and priority decisions into engineering delivery plans; prepare and present audience-calibrated status communications ensuring consistent stakeholder understanding of scope, schedule, and risks.
- Work with engineering managers to understand capacity and constraints; structure realistic team schedules without directing execution; co-own milestone definitions with clear entry/exit criteria; surface resourcing gaps and capacity constraints to enable staffing decisions.
- Develop deep familiarity with assigned domain architecture, team structure, dependencies, release cadence, and risk profile; track scope changes within domain and assess impact on schedule and dependent workstreams.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field; 3+ years in technical/engineering program management in software product environments.
- Demonstrated ability to own complex, multi-team engineering schedules with delivery accountability; experience managing cross-functional dependencies across multiple teams, product lines, or platforms through integrated plans, milestone tracking, and issue resolution.
- Strong SDLC knowledge, including Agile, SAFe, or hybrid methodologies, demonstrated through delivery planning, sprint/release coordination, and execution support.
- Ability to identify, assess, and communicate delivery risks, including translating technical risk into business impact and mitigation actions.
- Proven track record influencing outcomes without direct authority across engineering, product, and leadership.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model; travel 20%.
- Accreditations: Licensed CPA or, if not CPA eligible, Licensed Attorney or Enrolled Agent; Technology Certifications: SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, SAFe Agile Software Engineer, SAFe Agilist, SAFe Architect, SAFe DevOps Practitioner, SAFe Practitioner, SAFe Scrum Master.
