Senior Technical Accountant

About the Role Provides professional technical accounting and financial reporting services under GAAP, SEC rules, and FERC accounting standards. The role involves performing technical accounting research, reviewing contracts and regulatory orders, and assisting with SEC filings and external reports, while supporting internal controls and cross-functional coordination. Based in Portland, the position contributes to accurate disclosures and regulatory compliance for PacifiCorp. What You'll Do

• Perform technical accounting research under GAAP, FERC and SEC requirements, documenting conclusions in memorandums or communications shared with executives, auditors, and regulators
• Review significant contracts and regulatory orders for accounting and disclosure implications; assess new accounting pronouncements and internal controls related to technical accounting
• Assist with preparation of SEC Form 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K filings, coordinating with finance, accounting, treasury, legal and regulatory teams
• Assist with preparation of other external reports (FERC Forms 3Q and Forms 1, ESG and regulatory reports, employee benefit plan reports, etc.)
• Support quarterly internal controls over financial reporting tasks and quarterly variance analyses for SEC filings and internal controls
• Perform ad hoc reporting and data gathering for external auditors, due diligence requests, and regulatory inquiries; prepare schedules for financial planning and analysis
• Potentially assist with information security management system controls compliance
• Consult with operational and management personnel on complex issues, identifying and implementing solutions What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; 7+ years of relevant experience
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP; experience with FERC and SEC regulatory processes
• Experience in financial statement preparation and analysis; proficiency with advanced accounting methodologies
• Proficient in Excel and ability to gather, analyze and summarize data; strong ability to review policies and enforce compliance
• Ability to develop, document, implement and enforce processes and procedures; strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under tight deadlines; capable of handling complex accounting matters with internal/external stakeholders
• Knowledge of research, analysis, and consulting techniques, and familiarity with company policies and regulatory laws Nice to Have

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• General understanding of FERC Uniform System of Accounts and ratemaking principles
• SAP experience
• Knowledge of PacifiCorp accounting policies and systems

• Salary: Hiring Range: $102,000 per year
