About the Role
As a Senior Tax Staff within Mobility - Expatriate Tax, you will deliver cross-border tax services for globally mobile employees, executives, and their employers. You will work on increasingly complex files, apply technical judgment across jurisdictions, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a supportive, team-based environment. This role offers meaningful technical development, growing client exposure, and a clear pathway toward more senior roles within Mobility.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and review complex Canadian and US personal income tax returns for internationally mobile employees, including inbound and outbound assignees.
- Identify appropriate Canadian and US tax filing positions, assessing risk and technical implications.
- Advise clients on the tax implications of cross-border employment, compensation, and mobility arrangements.
- Research tax technical matters and apply conclusions to compliance and advisory deliverables.
- Support mobility advisory engagements, including planning considerations and global coordination initiatives.
- Review work prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
- Utilize EY technology and standardized tools to improve efficiency and quality.
- Contribute to national learning initiatives through technical content development or training delivery.

- To qualify for the role, you must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant experience in Canadian and/or US personal taxation, ideally with exposure to expatriate or mobility-related matters.
- Strong working knowledge of tax compliance systems and applicable legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Progress toward a CPA or Enrolled Agent designation.
Nice to Have
- Foreign language skills, particularly Spanish, Japanese and Mandarin, are not required but valued.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $62,000 to $93,500 (Waterloo, Ontario).
