Job title: Senior Systems Engineer - Vehicle Communications
About the Role Senior Systems Engineer – Vehicle Communications focusing on ensuring overall form, fit, and function of new vehicle systems into a single complete system. The focus area is communications buses (CAN, Ethernet, etc.) and protocols to drive commonality across platforms.
What You'll Do
- Execute system engineering best practices; define and maintain product level feature specifications, system layout, and documentation.
- Collaborate with platform architectural teams to ensure maximum component scalability and modularity.
- Work with development teams to understand impacts of commonization of approaches.
- Perform trades studies to assess options and document decision process.
- Understand intended product end user needs; assist in defining product vision and roadmap.
- Translate stakeholder needs to product requirements.
- Define system level features and decompose those requirements into subsystem definitions and requirements.
- Coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines and development teams for system definition, design, and integration.
- Ensure product design aligns with multi-product architectural strategy; ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Work with product verification and validation to ensure system and components perform as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field with 8+ years of engineering experience.
- Experience in software development processes and software architectures.
- Experience in Ethernet communication standards and configuration.
- Experience in CAN communication standards.
- Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines and cross-functional development teams.
- Familiarity with product verification and validation.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cross-platform commonization and multi-product architectural strategy.
- Knowledge of automotive/industrial standards for vehicle networks (CAN, Ethernet).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: USD 137,475 - 210,795 per year (plus applicable bonus).
