About this role
About the Role TripleTen is launching a program for experienced engineers transitioning into system architecture roles. This teaching and review role requires you to host live sessions, review work, run architecture review boards, and set the technical bar for supporting instructors.
What You'll Do
- Host weekly live sessions across the program, focusing on design and decision-making: where to split services, scaling, failure handling, and tradeoffs
- Run group office hours and 1:1 sessions for students working on projects and the capstone
- Review student projects against rubrics: architecture dossiers, deployed backends, cloud infrastructure, performance reports, security reviews, and the final capstone
- Provide architectural feedback, not just pass/fail; diagnose and explain better paths when designs are unsound or interfaces are incorrect
- Run mock architecture review boards and simulated executive-panel presentations with senior-level critique
- Set the technical standard for a team of supporting instructors and act as escalation point on design and architecture calls
- Adapt to Async-first format with scheduled live sessions around a US-based cohort; expect ~15-25 hrs/week
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years as a senior software/systems architect, platform engineer, or senior backend/infrastructure engineer
- Proven track record shipping systems at scale in a real company
- Depth across system design, API/service architecture, cloud and infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD), and distributed systems
- Ability to explain why a decision was made and critique others' architectures live
- Strong technical communication; comfortable leading live sessions and providing clear, actionable feedback
- Strong English (C1+) for instruction and review in a US-based setting
- Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day technical work
- Please indicate in your application which area (Expert A/B/C) fits you best
