Job title: Senior Systems Administrator
About the Role
The Senior Systems Administrator will join a small tech team based in Salzburg, Austria, reporting to the Director Product and Technology at RealNetworks, a TransUnion company. The role focuses on building, securing, and maintaining Linux-based systems and associated infrastructure to support secure, reliable communication services across European telco networks.
What You'll Do

Install, configure, and maintain servers/VMs and Linux operating systems (Debian, Ubuntu, etc.).

Use a configuration management and automation tool to manage servers, enforce system configurations, and automate repetitive tasks.

Monitor system performance and uptime.

Apply security patches and software updates.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.

Manage backups, disaster recovery, and data integrity.

Support network infrastructure alongside the network administrators.

Support databases alongside DBAs.

Enforce security policies and compliance.

Handle on-call duty every couple of weeks.

What We're Looking For

Educational background in IT.

Track record of experience as a Linux systems administrator.

Experience in Linux administration (Debian, Ubuntu); virtualization (Xen); scripting; web servers and application servers (Apache, Tomcat, HAProxy); storage systems (GlusterFS); configuration management and automation (Puppet).

Knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL, MariaDB incl. Galera Cluster, PostgreSQL).

Good English communication skills, both written and spoken; strong team player mentality and excellent people skills.

Compensation & Benefits

The minimum salary for this position, according to the Austrian collective bargaining agreement, is EUR 3,954.00 per month for a full-time employment. Depending on professional experience and/or qualifications, your actual salary is intended to be significantly higher.
