About the Role Join Alstom in Toronto as Senior System Engineer – SCC to lead system architecture, requirements management, and integration for three subsystems (ATS, SCADA, Security System) within the GO Expansion program, ensuring RAM, safety, and cybersecurity compliance. What You'll Do
- Lead activity for the SCC System (ATS, SCADA, Security System): review and allocate requirements to User Stories; write User Stories and system specifications; update design documentation; ensure architecture compliance with RAM, safety, standards, and cybersecurity.
- Validate and coordinate integration across subsystems and external interfaces; follow up validation activities and dispatch anomalies when needed.
- Maintain requirements traceability from system to subsystems and interfaces; follow ADDA processes; collaborate with the project planner on deliverable dates.
- Participate in workshops, reviews, and cross-team interfaces (ETCS, TMS, RBC, Iconis, Turnkey, S&TC, Interlocking, Safety, Cyber, RAM, Quality).
- Provide SCC System KPIs for OnCorr management; participate in Change Control Board (CCB) meetings and change requests. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or equivalent; 5+ years in railway industry; 5+ years in system engineering (requirements, architecture, integration).
- 3+ years with large control center systems and their integration challenges; 3+ years with ATS and SCADA; desirable ICONIS experience (e.g., ATS CF, ATS CT, S2K-AGUI, S2K-UHMI).
- Desirable ETCS (European Train Control System) and CROR (Canadian Rail Operating Rules).
- Knowledge of distributed systems, network principles, and cybersecurity; understanding of Agile principles and configuration management tools (Clearcase, EWM).
- Strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills; excellent English communication skills. Nice to Have
- Desirable ICONIS products experience; ETCS and CROR familiarity; broader RAM, Safety, and Standards knowledge. Compensation & Benefits
- The expected compensation for this role is CAD 90,000 – 125,000 per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
