About the Role Senior Supply Chain Specialist based in Chennai, India, focusing on providing effective and efficient support for supply chain, customer service, distribution & warehouse operations, compliance and regulations to achieve high order fulfilment, customer satisfaction and profitability. You’ll analyse operations data, recommend improvements to inventory management, 3PL & distribution, and support the Purchasing team, potentially leading a team across APAC. What You'll Do
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and manufacturing subcontractors
- Conduct supplier evaluations and maintain rating systems
- Lead contract negotiations and manage ongoing supplier relationships
- Monitor compliance and performance metrics across supplier network
- Support purchasing with strategic insights and recommendations
- Foster collaborative relationships across functional areas
- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies for products and services
- Provide market intelligence and insights to enhance organizational preparedness
- Prepare comprehensive reports and participate in APAC and global meetings
- Identify opportunities to optimize subcontractor performance and operational efficiency
- Ensure subcontractors meet quality standards and technical specifications
- Implement robust quality control measures and resolve quality-related issues
- Monitor regulatory compliance across procurement activities
- Apply manufacturing principles and quality assurance methodologies
- Leverage SAP MM (Purchase modules) and SAP MRP knowledge; advanced MS Office
- Communicate in English, Tamil, and Hindi with strong written and oral skills What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering
- Professional certification in Procurement or Sourcing
- 7–10 years in manufacturing and sourcing, including identifying/developing new sources and subcontractors for tolling or subcontract operations and sourcing raw materials, intermediates and finished chemicals
- Experience in Process/Industrial/Fine chemical industries
- Fluency in English, Tamil, and Hindi Nice to Have
- Experience with bidding and reverse bidding platforms
- Advanced data analytics capabilities
