Senior Structural Engineer
The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, review, and technical coordination of structural engineering works for construction, infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and other development projects. The role involves developing safe, practical, and economical structural solutions and providing technical support throughout the design and construction process.
Key Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design of buildings, structures, foundations, and structural components.

Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and design reports.

Develop structural design solutions in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes and standards.

Review architectural, civil, mechanical, and other engineering information to ensure proper structural coordination.

Coordinate structural designs with other engineering disciplines.

Review structural drawings and models for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with design requirements.

Provide technical guidance to structural engineers, designers, and other project personnel.

Assess existing structures and recommend appropriate repair, strengthening, or modification solutions where required.

Support preparation of structural design calculations, material specifications, and quantity estimates.

Review contractor and supplier drawings, calculations, and technical submissions.

Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, site inspections, and construction support activities.

Provide technical clarification to construction teams regarding structural drawings and design requirements.

Monitor structural works during construction to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

Identify structural design issues, discrepancies, and constructability challenges and recommend solutions.

Support inspection, testing, commissioning, and project close-out activities where applicable.

Ensure structural engineering deliverables are completed accurately and within project schedules.

Maintain proper engineering documentation and revision control.

Ensure designs comply with applicable statutory requirements, codes, standards, and project specifications.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Relevant professional registration or engineering certification is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, design practices, codes, and standards.

Proficiency in relevant structural design and analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla Structural Designer, or equivalent.

Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, and other technical drawings.

Good understanding of reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, and other structural systems.

Strong technical report-writing and engineering documentation skills.
Experience
- Significant experience in structural engineering design and project delivery.
- Experience working on construction, infrastructure, industrial, commercial, or other structural projects.
- Experience in structural analysis, design, drawing review, and technical coordination.
- Experience providing engineering support during construction and site activities.
- Experience supervising or reviewing the work of engineers and structural designers is preferred.
