Senior Staff UX Designer

About the Role As part of GE Healthcare's Science and Technology Organization, this role shapes the future of digital healthcare by designing intuitive, user-centered systems that power the next generation of clinical and operational applications. The UX Designer will collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate business goals into effective digital experiences across diverse healthcare environments. What You'll Do

• Serve as a core member of a digital product team, driving end-to-end design decisions and shaping product direction in close partnership with engineering and product.
• Use participatory design methods (e.g., paper prototyping, co-creation sessions, card sorting) to uncover vision, business models, assumptions, and implicit knowledge about user needs and behaviors.
• Translate abstract problems into structured solution roadmaps by asking thoughtful, probing questions.
• Capture insights from stakeholders and validate findings to ensure alignment and accuracy.
• Conduct user research to understand user needs, mental models, and workflows.
• Synthesize research findings and create clear visualizations that communicate key insights around user and customer behaviors.
• Develop annotated wireframes and prototypes that effectively communicate user experience and application behavior.
• Lead and influence cross-functional discussions on current UX initiatives and the broader design strategy.
• Build domain knowledge across industrial businesses, including products, processes, customers, and competitors.
• Drive effective documentation and communication of design solutions through wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user stories.
• Stay current on and lead exploration of emerging trends in design, technology, and industry practices. What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in UX/design.
• Experience designing for the healthcare industry is highly desired.
• Proven experience working in enterprise and complex environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Lean UX methodologies.
• Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, OmniGraffle).
• Ability to create concepts using sketching, etc. Nice to Have
• Experience designing for the healthcare industry is highly desired.
