About the Role Databricks is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to help shape and lead Security Infrastructure within the Trust & Safety organization in Bellevue. The role focuses on building and evolving the security capabilities that protect customer data and enable the platform to scale safely. You will drive the vision and strategy for security infrastructure and represent the discipline across the company and in external venues.
What You'll Do
- Make Databricks safer for customers by identifying and plugging key gaps in our infrastructure and services.
- Represent the security engineering discipline throughout the organization, bringing a strong voice for data-driven security decisions.
- Represent Databricks at academic and industry conferences and events to share innovations and learn from the broader security community.
What We're Looking For
- 9+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas with deep expertise in at least two of: Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust & Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
- Experience building systems at large-scale internet companies is a huge plus.
- 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
- Leadership skills and experience leading across functional and organizational lines.
- Strong communication skills to explain and evangelize Data Security to senior leaders across the company.
- Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
Compensation & Benefits
- Local Pay Range $217,200—$288,400 USD.
- Total compensation may include annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits as described in the benefits page.
