About the Role Databricks is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead Security Infrastructure within the Trust & Safety organization. You will shape the vision, strategy, and execution to make our data platform safer for customers, scale security across a data and AI infrastructure, and represent the security discipline across the company.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute the security infrastructure strategy for the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform to identify and close gaps in systems and services.
- Lead security engineering efforts across teams and functions, including threat modeling, incident response, and building scalable controls for high availability at internet-scale.
- Represent Databricks security at academic and industry conferences and internal leadership forums.
- Attract top security talent, mentor engineers, and evangelize data security across the organization.
What We're Looking For
- 9+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas with expertise in two or more: Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust & Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
- 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
- Leadership experience to lead across functional and organizational lines; strong communication skills to influence senior leaders.
- Bias to action and a track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
- MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields.
Nice to Have
- Experience building systems at large-scale internet companies is a huge plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Local Pay Range: 228,400—303,550 USD. The total compensation may include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. For more information about location-specific ranges, refer to the company's page.
