About the Role Databricks seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer in IAM to lead security engineering within Trust & Safety and help build a safer, scalable data and AI platform. You will shape strategy, drive security initiatives, and represent the team internally and at external venues.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute the security engineering strategy for IAM and related domains, aligning with product and platform goals.
- Identify and plug gaps in infrastructure and services to improve safety and resilience for customer data.
- Represent the security engineering discipline across the organization and at conferences, attracting top talent.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, secure solutions and mentor engineers.
- Communicate security initiatives and outcomes to senior leadership and stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- 9+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas with expertise in two or more of: Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust, Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
- 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
- Leadership skills and ability to lead across functional and organizational lines.
- Strong communication skills to explain and evangelize Data Security to senior leaders.
- Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
- MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields.
Nice to Have
- Experience building systems at large scale internet companies is a huge plus.
Compensation & Benefits
