Twilio is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our remote team. This role focuses on backend development within scalable distributed systems, supporting one of the world’s leading cloud communications platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teammates to deliver reliable, high-performance services in a remote, full-time capacity.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services that are scalable, reliable, and secure
- Develop and operate distributed systems with a focus on performance and resilience
- Collaborate with product and engineering peers to define technical solutions and drive delivery
- Contribute to code quality through reviews, testing, and best practices
- Engage in problem-solving and incident response to ensure smooth operation of systems
- Work with APIs, CI/CD processes, and AWS-based infrastructure as part of ongoing development
Requirements
- Strong backend development experience with Java, Go, Python, or similar languages
- Experience with AWS, CI/CD, APIs, and distributed systems
- Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript/React is a plus
- Interest in identity, authentication, security, or fraud prevention
- Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Availability for a full-time remote role with location-based salary considerations
