About the Role Susquehanna is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Research Tech team, building applications, services, and platforms that support trading strategies and make research workflows scalable. You will work at the intersection of engineering, quantitative research, and production infrastructure, owning systems used by researchers and traders daily. If you enjoy engaging with math and statistics as well as coding, this role offers substantial collaboration with researchers and trading leads.
What You'll Do
- Build research applications, services, and platforms that support trading strategies — spanning beta analysis across baskets of stocks, news aggregation, trading-opinion workflows, and the production infrastructure needed to run these capabilities reliably
- Partner directly with quantitative researchers and traders on a daily basis to understand their needs, translate them into working systems, and deliver features end-to-end from design through production
- Improve production behavior of the platform — observability, debugging tooling, and performance tuning under load
- Work across the full stack — C# and .NET backend services, React and JavaScript frontends, and Python for data-intensive services — collaborating with adjacent engineering teams across the firm and internationally
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on experience in C#, Python, and React (or other modern JavaScript frameworks)
- Full-stack comfort — backend services through frontend interfaces, with fluency across the languages above
- Strong communication skills and the ability to iterate quickly with quantitative researchers, traders, and other developers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field
