Job title: Senior Software Engineer - Python/MongoDB
About the Role We are building a fully managed MongoDB solution based on Juju to enable reliable MongoDB deployments across clouds and on-premises. We're seeking an experienced Python developer with a MongoDB background to help design, implement, and operate this solution. As part of a small MongoDB team, you will be a key contributor with a tangible impact on the product and broader ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain Python components for managing MongoDB deployments across machines, VMs, public cloud, and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with the Juju-based tooling to deliver a fully managed MongoDB experience.
- Operate and troubleshoot mission-critical MongoDB deployments and contribute to reliability and security improvements.
- Work closely with a small team and stakeholders to shape product direction.
What We're Looking For
- Senior Python programmer with strong MongoDB experience.
- Experience operating and managing MongoDB in production across multi-cloud or on-prem environments.
- Familiarity with Juju or cloud deployment automation; knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus.
- Ability to work in mission-critical environments and deliver high-quality, robust code.
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Juju-based deployments
- Kubernetes familiarity
- Basic cloud provider experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
