About this role
Why qlub
The end of a great meal shouldn't be the slow part. Waiting for the check, finding someone to take payment, splitting a bill by hand. qlub removes that friction. Guests scan a QR code and pay in seconds. No app, no download, no waiting.
From Pay-at-Table and Digital Menus to Order-and-Pay, Payment Links, and SoftPOS terminals, we handle the full payment experience so restaurants can focus on what they do best: great hospitality. Less friction means faster table turnover, smoother operations, and higher profit.
We're a fast-scaling fintech backed by Mastercard, Mubadala, e& and Shorooq. $72M raised, live across multiple markets worldwide, and headcount doubled in the past year. We're building the teams that take us to the next stage.
The role
Loyalty is how qlub turns a single payment into a lasting relationship between a diner and a restaurant. The Loyalty team owns points and rewards, tiers and subscriptions. That covers both the diner-facing experience and the merchant tools that run it.
As a Senior Software Engineer on Loyalty, you'll drive features across the entire stack: frontend, backend services and database. This is a hands-on individual contributor role. You'll own your work from design to production and ship often. The team follows Agile Scrum, with regular sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
We work AI-native. AI coding agents are part of how we plan, build, test, review and document every day. We're looking for someone who already works this way and has the judgement to keep quality high while doing it.
What you’ll own
-
Design, build and operate Loyalty features end to end: customer-facing web apps, merchant admin tools, backend services and the database behind them.
-
Design relational data models and migrations that are safe to roll out and correct for money and points.
-
Integrate with third-party loyalty providers, with a focus on reliability, idempotency and security.
-
Use AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) daily for discovery, implementation, debugging, testing, code review and documentation, while staying fully accountable for what you ship. Create and contribute to the shared context (rules, docs, skills) that AI agents rely on to work well in our codebase.
-
Identify gaps in the product and the platform, write clear technical designs for your features, and break large changes into small, safe steps.
-
Take part in code reviews, and help improve engineering standards and the team's AI- assisted workflows.
-
Improve the observability, performance and reliability of the Loyalty platform.
Who you are
-
You own outcomes and you see your work through to production.
-
You make good decisions quickly with incomplete information.
-
You use AI to move faster without giving up security, maintainability or engineering judgement.
-
You're comfortable working anywhere in the stack, and you pick up new tools and languages quickly.
-
You collaborate well with engineers, product, design and operations teams.
What you’ll need
-
5+ years building production software, with real ownership across frontend, backend and database.
-
Strong backend experience in Go (Node.js is also acceptable).
-
Solid frontend experience with React/Next.js and TypeScript, including state management, API integration and testing.
-
Strong skills with at least one relational database (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server): data modelling, indexing, migrations and query performance.
-
Good knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing and distributed systems, including queues, retries and idempotency.
-
Hands-on, daily use of AI-assisted development tools. You should be able to walk us through how you use them: where they help, where they fail, and how you verify their output.
-
Experience with Redis or similar caches, Docker, Git and CI/CD.
-
Fluency in English and strong written communication.
-
Experience working in Agile teams, ideally with Scrum.
Nice to have
-
Loyalty domain experience: points and rewards engines, tiers, subscriptions, or coupons and promotions.
-
Experience with payments or fintech.
-
Experience with both Go and Node.js.
-
Experience with event-driven systems and message brokers such as Kafka.
-
Experience with AWS, Kubernetes and Helm.
-
Experience building LLM-powered features such as tool calling or agentic workflows, with an understanding of guardrails and risks.
What we offer
-
Real ownership over products that impact millions of diners and thousands of restaurants globally
-
The opportunity to solve challenging problems in payments, hospitality, and customer experience
-
A fast-moving environment where great ideas quickly become reality
-
Close collaboration with experienced operators, builders, and industry experts
-
A chance to leave a visible mark on one of the fastest-growing restaurant technology companies globally
