About the Role
Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Kernel Security to build, develop, and maintain kernel security features for PlayStation systems. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement security improvements and ensures robust kernel-level protections. You will also contribute to open-source projects and maintain high code quality through testing and reviews.
What You'll Do
- Build, develop, and maintain kernel security features for PlayStation systems.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to successfully implement security improvements.
- Debug and resolve sophisticated security issues within the kernel.
- Supervise and analyze security threats to determine the best course of action.
- Assist with open-source projects associated with kernel security.
- Maintain code quality through meticulous testing and code reviews.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in C programming languages; experience with C++ is a plus.
- Experience with kernel development; FreeBSD knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge of kernel security concepts and practices.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub.
- Excellent debugging skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a cooperative group.

- Advanced knowledge of operating systems and low-level programming.
- Experience contributing to widely recognized open-source projects.
