About the Role We’re seeking a senior software engineer with deep expertise in 3D geometry, graphics, and visualization to help Hover push the boundaries of immersive, high-impact user experiences. This role sits on the 3D & Measurements team, building core systems behind products like the PDF measurements report, Workspace (exteriors), and Virtual Walkthrough (interiors). What You'll Do
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable 3D measurement systems that power our industry-leading reports
- Driving innovation in 3D tooling with modern graphics and geometry-processing technologies
- Contributing to Workspace and Virtual Walkthrough, enhancing visual fidelity and interactivity
- Collaborating across product, design, and engineering to integrate 3D experiences into a unified frontend/backend ecosystem
- Providing technical leadership in defining architecture, tools, and best practices for 3D product development
- Helping shape Hover’s long-term technical direction in 3D visualization, aligned with company goals What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in 3D visualization, graphics, Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG), geometry processing, or CAD software
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript; willingness to learn new languages/frameworks
- Strong foundation in mathematics (linear algebra, geometry) and applying it to real-world code
- Demonstrated ability to define technical requirements and create clear, actionable documentation for open-ended problems
- Full-stack experience and passion for bringing 3D tools to life through modern web development Nice to Have
- WebGL experience and libraries such as three.js or Babylon.js
- Experience with React or Angular
- Background in 3D modeling software (Houdini, SketchUp, 3DS Max); bonus for plugin/custom tooling
- Backend experience in Ruby, Node.js, or similar Compensation & Benefits
- The US base salary range is $194,000 - $239,000 annually, plus meaningful equity
