Job title: Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack

About the Role Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack based out of our NYC office. You will be part of Fitch Group Technology's agile teams delivering software products for our BMI business, with a modern cloud-native, containerized, serverless and microservices oriented stack. You will play a key role in implementing tools and processes to improve the quality of our end-to-end code and create a more efficient workflow for our customers. This position offers a hybrid in-office / work-from-home arrangement.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop and deploy cloud-native container-based financial applications.
• Develop new user experiences using React JS.
• Design and develop REST-based API services using NodeJS/Python.
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Optimize components to work seamlessly across different browsers and devices.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience designing and developing distributed application architecture of moderate-to-high complexity.
• 5+ years in Nest JS, React JS, Open Search, C#, Docker.
• In-depth knowledge of TypeScript, SCSS, HTML, and front-end languages.
• Knowledge of React tools including React.js, React Hooks, Redux/MobX/Recoil or other state management frameworks.
• Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and MSSQL.
• Experience in working with Scrum, keeping track of sprint items in JIRA and completing everything on time.
• Knowledge of performance testing frameworks including Mocha and Jest.
• Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems.
• Ability to lead offshore teams.
• Experience with multicultural global technology teams in the financial industry.
• Exceptionally self-motivated, self-directed, and detail-oriented.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with AWS DynamoDB, AWS Neptune, Lambda, S3, DocumentDB.
• Familiarity with modern data architecture and engineering technologies.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $140,000 - $150,000 per year (USD) for New York roles.
• Base pay is part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which may include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
