About the Role
Senior Software Engineer (Front End) at John Wiley & Sons, Inc. will join engineering teams to lead the development of innovative software solutions and translate high-level architecture into detailed technical designs. You will build scalable applications, mentor teammates, and collaborate with design and backend groups to deliver responsive, high-performance web applications. What You'll Do
- Lead frontend development using React, JavaScript, and HTML to build responsive, high-performance user interfaces.
- Translate high-level architecture into detailed technical designs and drive the implementation of scalable applications and systems.
- Collaborate with design, backend, data science, product, SRE, and other teams to deliver intuitive user experiences and robust platforms.
- Own services and customer experience with a full-cycle, full-stack approach, practicing test-driven development and CI/CD into production.
- Create low-level technical designs from high-level architecture; manage code repository structure and branching; perform rigorous code reviews to maintain coding standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams. What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of hands-on development experience and proven experience as a technical lead.
- Expert-level proficiency in software architecture and system design; advanced knowledge of design patterns and best practices.
- Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members.
- Strong frontend development experience with React, JavaScript, and HTML.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment and collaborate cross-functionally.
