About the Role As a Senior Software Engineer at Litera, you will play a key role in advancing the technology behind Kira, one of our flagship products used by legal professionals worldwide. This role is critical to delivering scalable, high-performing SaaS solutions that improve user experience, reliability, and platform innovation across a complex modern tech stack. You will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and product teams to shape the future of our platform while driving technical excellence and continuous improvement. What You'll Do
- Design and deliver scalable, user-focused features across backend services, APIs, and frontend applications
- Drive improvements to platform performance, reliability, and maintainability across a complex SaaS environment
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate product goals into technical solutions that support long-term growth
- Lead technical problem-solving efforts, proactively identifying and resolving product-level issues
- Contribute reusable, high-quality code that accelerates future development and platform consistency
- Influence architectural decisions that strengthen scalability, security, and system robustness
- Support a collaborative engineering culture through mentorship, code reviews, and process improvements
- Help evolve engineering best practices that enable teams to deliver efficiently and continuously improve What We're Looking For
- Proven professional software development experience using Clojure or a similar Lisp-family language
- Strong understanding of scalable SaaS application development and modern software architecture
- Solid SQL and relational database experience, including PostgreSQL
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and engineering best practices
- Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed, cross-functional teams Nice to Have
- Experience with ClojureScript
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch, or similar technologies
- Understanding of application security principles
- Passion for continuous learning and improving engineering processes Compensation & Benefits
- The base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000 USD. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, and other relevant qualifications. This role is also eligible to participate in a company bonus plan.
