Role Overview
ArchiBoost AI is building an AI co-pilot for the AEC industry — automating code compliance, structuring firm knowledge, and performing real-time QA/QC across complex building projects.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll build the core infrastructure, data systems, and AI pipelines powering this vision.
This isn't a typical backend role—you'll work on retrieval over large-scale architectural datasets, AI reasoning across drawings and codes, and distributed systems supporting LLM-powered workflows.
You'll collaborate closely with product, ML, and design to turn complex architectural workflows into scalable systems.
What You'll Work On
- Retrieval systems over large, unstructured architectural and regulatory datasets
- AI pipelines that reason across drawings, codes, and specifications
- Multi-step agents performing QA/QC across building projects
- Distributed systems managing compute-heavy (CPU/GPU) workloads
- Evaluation frameworks for domain-specific AI performance
- Real-time collaboration between humans and AI on design artifacts
Responsibilities

Build and scale backend systems for AI-driven workflows

Design APIs orchestrating LLMs, retrieval, and reasoning systems

Develop pipelines for processing drawings, documents, and BIM data

Architect distributed systems for large-scale, multi-region datasets

Optimize performance, latency, and cost of AI workloads

Productionize LLM/agent systems and improve reliability + observability

Contribute to core architecture, infrastructure, and engineering standards

Required Qualifications

5+ years backend engineering experience

Strong skills in Python, Go, or TypeScript

Experience with distributed systems and scalable APIs

Solid CS fundamentals (systems, data structures, concurrency)

Location
This role is in-office, five days per week, in San Francisco.

- Base salary range: $150,000-$250,000
