About the Role Toast seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain enterprise Android features in Kotlin, contributing across the Toast Drive-Thru Enterprise team. This role focuses on scalable Android apps and collaboration across backend and product teams to deliver best-in-class drive-thru solutions. What You'll Do
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable features across Toast’s enterprise management products
- Hands-on design and implementation of Android applications in Kotlin
- Lead complex projects that improve the functionality and reliability of our products
- Ensure quality by building automated testing for changes
- Contribute to the overall quality of the Android and backend systems
- Collaborate with UX, PM, QA, and Engineering to define, design, and build best-in-class solutions in a complex and fast-moving environment
- Guide the growth & development of peer engineers with mentoring and coaching What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of prior experience developing and maintaining Android applications
- Experience with distributed systems, enterprise messaging systems, and/or microservices
- Proficient with modern API standards and technologies (e.g., REST, GraphQL)
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Passionate about driving innovation and continuously improving engineering practices
- Proven track record of technical leadership and contribution to complex projects
- Has a growth mindset with an emphasis on improving yourself and your team
- Balances getting things done with platform stability
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $138,000—$221,000 USD
