About the Role

Senior Android Engineer at Tinder will lead the architecture, design and implementation of consumer-facing features in the Tinder App, owning visible aspects and driving innovation in a high-scale product. This hybrid role is based in Ghent, Belgium and involves collaboration across cross-functional teams with opportunities to mentor others.

What You'll Do

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of consumer-facing features in the Tinder App.

• Build new compelling in-app experiences that will reach millions of users globally.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product managers and designers to influence the roadmap and product development of Tinder’s App and services.

• Create and maintain internal shared frameworks and libraries.

• Mentor, collaborate, and learn with innovative and passionate team members.

• What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience building native Android applications.

• Significant experience building applications in Kotlin.

• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose.

• Strong software architect well versed in design patterns (e.g. MVP, MVVM, Clean Architecture) and knowledge of Repositories and Factories.

• Understanding of Dependency Injection and experience with Dagger.

• Experience with Coroutines.

• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, LLM-based coding assistants).

• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across different time zones.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment.

• Proactive, curious, and always looking for ways to learn and improve.

• Comfortable working cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams.

• Adaptable and positive in fast-changing, agile environments.

• Nice to Have

• Experience designing and architecting full-stack applications, including API design and UI wireframing.

• Understanding Material Design guidelines and Android brand identity.

• BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering.
