Job title: Senior Software Engineer - Android Automotive
About the Role As a senior-level software engineer at HARMAN Automotive, you will coordinate and implement Android Automotive OS platform features and customer-facing features of our connected, embedded Infotainment System. You will own modules from requirements to realization, contribute to testing strategies, and mentor teammates.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for requirement analysis through realization of functionality in the Android Automotive domain.
- Develop modules/components in Android Automotive System with multiple component ownership and ensure software delivery for integration.
- Implement and document test strategies; perform pre-integration testing and verification; ensure traceability and feature maturity.
- Defect triaging and resolution; coordinate with other domains to resolve dependencies.
- Mentor less experienced team members to help them complete tasks on time.
- Work in an agile cross-functional team; demonstrate leadership, planning and organization.
What We're Looking For
- Solid experience with software life-cycle methodologies; Agile collaboration.
- Strong leadership, planning and organization skills; mentoring abilities.
- Expert knowledge of Android Framework, AOSP architecture, and build system.
- 3+ years of experience modifying Android framework components, system services, and the Android SDK.
- Good understanding of Android Automotive System and Car Framework.
- Strong understanding of Android components: Services, Broadcast Receivers, Content Providers, Treble Architecture.
- Proficiency in Java or Kotlin and Object-Oriented Programming.
