About the Role Join D2L Labs as a Senior Software Developer, shaping the incubation of new AI-driven products and features. You will mentor teams, apply engineering best practices, and push the boundaries of AI within enterprise software. You’ll collaborate with product teams and clients to ensure practical, ethical AI solutions and foster a culture of learning and innovation. What You'll Do
- Lead the development and incubation of new products and features on the D2L Labs team.
- Integrate cutting-edge AI techniques into our development processes and toolchains.
- Conduct ongoing AI research to enhance capabilities and engage with strategic clients for thought leadership.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and stakeholders to deliver meaningful, aligned results.
- Foster continuous learning and innovation; maintain agility in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. What We're Looking For
- Strong communication skills for technical discussions; ability to articulate AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience delivering technically challenging AI/ML projects.
- Hands-on experience building applications with large language models (GPT, Claude, Llama) and/or AI agents; integration into enterprise platforms.
- Alignment to AI ethics and responsible AI practices.
- Strong collaboration with product management, design, and stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of CS topics: data structures, algorithms, databases, distributed systems, and ML.
- Experience with object-oriented design; proficient coding.
- Proficiency with full-stack languages: Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python; frontend frameworks React, Angular, Vue.
- Familiarity with creating intuitive and responsive user interfaces.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and best practices for AI model deployment and maintenance.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps; CI/CD; security considerations.
- Demonstrated experience with LLMs (GPT, Claude, Llama) and advanced prompt engineering (chain-of-thought, retrieval-augmented generation); integrating LLMs into enterprise apps.
- Understanding of agent-based systems and multi-agent architectures.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior developers; experience in an Agile environment with Git, Jira, Slack.
- Familiarity with data preprocessing, ETL processes.
- 8+ years of software development experience; 5+ years with cloud platforms and DevOps.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical discipline; advanced degrees beneficial but not mandatory. Nice to Have
