About the Role The Senior Software Developer will provide development support for design, coding, testing, documentation, and implementation of complex changes across applications supporting the Western World / Lexington businesses. The role also covers end-user support, maintenance, vulnerability management, service improvement planning, and ongoing IT control (SOX/IT) support. The role requires collaboration with IT teams (DBA, IT Infrastructure, IAM), the Operations Team and project leaders to ensure projects are structured, developed to standards, and delivered with clear expectations. What You'll Do
- Design, document, develop, and implement scalable, reliable software products that meet business requirements.
- Perform hands-on code reviews and guide the team to implement best coding practices and standards.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and other development team members to deliver products, clarify objectives, provide reliable estimates, formulate detailed delivery plans, determine scope, drive consensus, identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Author developer-focused Runbooks, deployment plans, and systems architecture documentation; communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Develop and support integrations with other platforms to support end-to-end processing of business.
- Enforce security best practices across the software development lifecycle.
- Work with wider IT groups and project leaders to coordinate direction, in-flight initiatives, and maintain shared understanding.
- Provide end-user support and ongoing maintenance to maintain service levels and platform stability.
- Manage other software development resources and assist in IT planning exercises; ensure resources are coordinated with clear planning and core subject matter expertise.
- Coordinate resources and provide core subject matter expertise to ensure projects are structured and delivered per standards.
- Work closely with IT teams (DBA, IT Infrastructure, IAM) and Operations to align on project structure and expectations. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- 4+ years of software development experience in the insurance industry.
- Proficiency in .NET, SQL Server, SSIS, JavaScript, HTML, C#, Angular, and TypeScript.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
- Clear and confident communicator with the ability to challenge and influence change at a strategic level.
- Experience developing software using multiple frameworks, consuming APIs, and building robust, scalable applications in a complex environment.
- Team player with the ability to work in challenging environments; strong attention to detail and customer focus.
- Detailed understanding of cloud platforms.
- Ability to manage other software development resources and assist in IT planning. Nice to Have Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $86,000 - $106,000 USD annually.
