About the Role
As a Senior Software Backend Engineer (Software Engineer III) at TomoCredit, you’ll join a small, on-site San Francisco team to own backend projects from concept to completion and help shape a product that will impact millions of users. We empower self-starters with rigor, ownership, and opportunities to grow through mentorship from FinTech executives as the company scales.
What You'll Do

Collaborate with design and product teams to define and launch new features.

Take end-to-end ownership of backend projects, ensuring scalability and high performance.

Design, build, and maintain robust APIs.

Leverage AWS services to create robust, cloud-based solutions.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.

Partner with the support team to address technical challenges and enhance the user experience.

Conduct thorough QA testing to ensure high-quality releases.

What We're Looking For

3–5 years of experience with Node.js.

Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.

Expertise in SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL or Redshift.

Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

Hands-on experience with AWS such as EC2, EBS, RDS, CloudWatch, and Lambda.

Demonstrated expertise in managing asynchronous processes and implementing messaging queues.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to build relationships with technology partners.

Passion for continuous learning, creativity, and building innovative products.

Experience in fintech or financial technology.

Familiarity with front-end or mobile development (React or React Native) is a plus.
